Method
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F or 200°C. I always start hot so the chickpeas get crisp fast.
- Prep the chickpeas by draining and rinsing the can. No need to dry them for this method.
- Season and oil Toss the chickpeas with olive oil and the spices until evenly coated.
- Add to the air fryer Dump the whole batch into the basket in a single layer as much as you can.
- Cook and shake Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket a couple of times so they crisp evenly.
- Finish and season When they are as crunchy as you like, remove and taste, then add more salt and pepper if needed.
- Store to keep crisp Let cool and keep in an open container so moisture does not soften them.
Notes
These air fryer chickpeas are a great meal prep snack. Drying is not necessary for this recipe, unlike oven-roasted chickpeas. Store in an open bowl or jar to keep them crisp. Avoid seasonings with sugar as they may burn in the air fryer.
