Method
- Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture (this helps the soup mix stick).
- Trim off any excess skin, leaving the skin intact over the breast for added flavor and moisture.
- Rub the onion soup mix generously over the outside of the turkey and lift the skin to rub some seasoning underneath.
- Place the turkey breast into the slow cooker, skin-side up.
- Cover and cook on high for 1 hour, then reduce the setting to low and cook for an additional 7 hours. Walk away—the slow cooker’s got this!
- Check the turkey's doneness by inserting an instant-read thermometer near the bone. It should read 165°F (74°C) when fully cooked.
- Optional: For crispy skin, transfer the turkey to a baking sheet and broil for 3-5 minutes under your oven’s broiler.
- Let the turkey rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite gravy or pan drippings.
Notes
Tip: If you don’t own a slow cooker yet, look for models with programmable settings for added convenience.
