Method
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Drain excess fat and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, mix the paprika, garlic powder, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Layer half of the potato slices in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Sprinkle over half of the sliced onions, half of the seasoning mixture, half of the cooked beef, and half of the cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients, finishing with the cheese as the top layer.
- Drizzle the beef broth evenly over the layers.
- Cover and cook on the “High” setting for 4 hours. Resist the urge to lift the lid during cooking, as this will slow down the process and result in firmer potatoes.
- Once done, check that the potatoes are fork-tender and the cheese is fully melted. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Using pre-shredded cheese or pre-sliced potatoes can save even more prep time!
