Ingredients

  • 3 pounds chicken breasts (about 4 large)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Method

  1. Place chicken breasts at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Pour the chicken broth over the top, then sprinkle on the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Set your CrockPot to low heat and cook for 6-8 hours (or choose high heat for 3-4 hours).
  4. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. It should break apart effortlessly!
  5. Use the chicken right away for your favorite dishes, or let it cool, portion it into zip-top bags, and freeze for up to two months.

Notes

Pro tip: If you're shopping for a new slow cooker, look for one with a programmable timer feature. It'll automatically shift to a 'keep warm' setting once the cooking time is up—talk about stress-free cooking!
