Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter, cubed
  • 1-1/2 cups 60% cacao bittersweet chocolate baking chips, divided
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 325°F. Line a 6-inch square or round cake pan with parchment paper, leaving the ends to hang over the sides for easy lifting.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and 1 cup of chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring after each. Cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat together the sugar, eggs, water, and vanilla until combined. Slowly stir in the cooled chocolate mixture.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and gently fold in the remaining 1/2 cup of chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the surface with a spatula.
  6. Place the pan in the air fryer and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs. Tent the pan with foil if browning too quickly.
  7. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10-15 minutes. Use the parchment overhang to lift the brownies out, then cut into squares.

Notes

Don’t skip the parchment paper: This makes removing the brownies a breeze—no sticking!
