Method
- Preheat your air fryer: Set it to 400°F (200°C) so it’s ready to go when the potatoes are prepped.
- Prepare the potatoes: Scrub your potatoes clean, pat them dry, and poke a few holes in each with a fork (this keeps them from bursting). Rub with olive oil, then season them generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and parsley.
- Air fry the potatoes: Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket. Make sure they aren’t touching to allow air circulation (hello, crispy skins!). Cook for 40–50 minutes, flipping halfway. Exact timing will depend on their size—large potatoes may need closer to 50 minutes.
- Check doneness: Pierce one with a fork—it should slide in easily if they’re ready.
- Add butter and serve: Slice each potato lengthwise and gently pinch it open until the fluffy insides puff out. Add a tablespoon of butter to each, and enjoy right away!
Notes
For even cooking, choose potatoes that are similar in size and avoid overcrowding your air fryer basket. Customize the seasoning with spices like paprika, onion powder, or cayenne for an extra kick. Leftovers can be stored in foil or an airtight container for up to 3 days.
