Ingredients

  • 2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 1/2 pounds baby potatoes, halved
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish, optional

Method

  1. Season the steak cubes with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned steak cubes and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer the browned steak to the crockpot.
  3. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Then, stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Transfer to the crockpot.
  4. Pour the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the steak mixture in the crockpot. Stir in dried thyme. Arrange the baby potatoes around the beef.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the steak is tender and the potatoes are easily pierced with a fork.
  6. For optional garnish, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley before serving.
