Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water

Method

  1. Pour your melted butter directly into the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, cocoa powder, melted butter, and milk until smooth. Pour the batter over the butter in the slow cooker.
  3. In a smaller bowl, stir together the sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Sprinkle this dry mixture evenly over the batter—don’t stir!
  4. Carefully pour the boiling water over everything. Again, do not stir. Trust me, it works!
  5. Set your slow cooker to high and cook for 2 hours, or low for 3-4 hours, until the cobbler is firm on top and gooey underneath.
  6. Serve warm with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the ultimate chocolate experience.
