Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb block extra firm tofu, pressed for 30 minutes, then cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 tablespoon light soy sauce or liquid aminos
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch (up to 2 extra teaspoons for extra crisp)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil or any neutral oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Method
 

  1. Press your tofu: Place the tofu block between paper towels or in a tofu press for 30 minutes to remove excess water. Cut into 1-inch cubes or tear into irregular pieces for a crispier texture.
  2. Season the tofu: In a medium bowl, toss the tofu cubes with soy sauce or liquid aminos until evenly coated.
  3. Add the spices: Sprinkle in garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, sea salt, cornstarch, sesame oil, and black pepper. Toss until every piece is covered.
  4. Preheat and cook: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Add the tofu in a single layer (don’t crowd the basket), and cook for 10-15 minutes, shaking the basket after 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  5. Cool and serve: Remove the tofu from the air fryer and let it cool slightly. Serve it as a snack, salad topper, or protein for your favorite veggie bowl.
