Ingredients

  • 16 dill pickle slices or dill pickle spears
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • ¼ teaspoon hot sauce like Tabasco
  • 1 ½ cups Panko bread crumbs
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried dill
  • Cooking spray

Method

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F.
  2. Drain the pickles thoroughly and pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  3. Set up three bowls. In the first, add flour. In the second, whisk eggs, water, and hot sauce. In the third, combine Panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and dried dill.
  4. Dredge the pickles: coat with flour, dip into egg wash, and press into the breadcrumb mixture. Ensure each pickle is well-coated.
  5. Lightly spray the pickles with cooking spray. Arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket—do not overcrowd.
  6. Air fry for 5 minutes, then flip the pickles and cook for another 4–6 minutes until golden and crispy.
  7. Let the pickles cool for 2 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Use thick pickle slices: Slice your own pickles if you prefer heartier results.
