Ingredients

  • 4-6 chicken drumsticks Bone-in, skin-on drumsticks work best for crispy skin.
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (I used canola oil)
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika Adds a rich, smoky flavor. You can sub with regular paprika if needed.
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder Brings just the right kick. Reduce for a milder result.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper Simple seasoning that’s always a must.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Simple seasoning that’s always a must.

Method

  1. Prep the chicken: In a large mixing bowl, drizzle the drumsticks with oil and sprinkle on the seasonings (smoked paprika, chili powder, black pepper, and salt). Use your hands or tongs to ensure every piece is evenly coated.
  2. Arrange in air fryer: Place the drumsticks in your air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding—this helps them cook evenly.
  3. Cook: Air fry at 200°C (390°F) for 25 minutes, flipping the drumsticks halfway through.
  4. Serve: Once golden and crispy, remove the drumsticks. You can enjoy them as-is or toss them in your favorite sauce (more on that below).

Notes

Pro tip: Don’t forget to flip the drumsticks halfway through cooking for even crispiness! If your air fryer is compact, you may need to cook in batches to prevent crowding.
